Summer has come to an end, so you may be thinking of changing your fragrances to harmonise with the season. Replace those light floral notes with warmer, spicier woodier ones. You’ll probably want your new fragrance to have a stronger scent, offering great longevity, lasting the full length of a day. These fragrances all share similar woody base notes, and their hearts beat of spices, fruits and leather. Walk hand in hand with Mother Nature and pick the perfect scent for the most beautiful of seasons.
This bottle actually sits on my bedside table, its pleasant musky nature and its longevity throughout the day making it a personal favourite. Essential woody notes of Brazilian rosewood, oakmoss, guaiac wood and cedar provide a strong base, whilst at its heart, this fragrance throws spicy notes of cyclamen, coriander, carnation, iris, pepper and cardamom into the mix. Contrasting notes to the woodland aromas, top notes of aldehydes, lavender, mandarin orange, bergamot, black currant blossom, orange and tea make this a masculine but sensual fragrance perfect for a chilly evening.
Legend – Montblanc
World renowned for their opulent range of watches, jewellery and writing tools, Mont Blanc don’t take any short cuts with their fragrance house; their beautifully bottled fragrances shine the Montblanc flag, exuding quality. This work of art kisses the senses, aromatic notes of fresh bergamot, lavender, pineapple leaf and exotic verbena leading you to its core. Thrumming at its heart, oakmoss, coumarin, apple, rose, and Pomarosa add the autumnal warmth from spices and fruits. The base is concocted from sandalwood, tonka and evernyl. If you are looking to either buy for yourself, or as a gift, Montblanc offer the best. This particular bottle is inspired by one of their pens and could almost be mistaken for a sculpture – quality fragrance in a stunning bottle.
The Caroline Herrera fragrance house wanted to create a fragrance that reflected the aromas of spirits, notes of gin and vodka evoking a cocktail bar quality. Spices are also infused into the mix, adding warmth. VIP suits the party attitude of the trendy New York/London/Paris elite, daring yet subtle, brimming with the confidence of youth. The base composition is comprised from woods, leather and amber, whilst the middle notes come from mint, vodka, gin and spices. The top notes are a mix of passion fruit, ginger, black pepper, lime, caviar – a heady splash that’ll see you right on an autumnal evening out.
