Quilting continues to be a popular arts and crafts hobby in the United States. A survey of 1,070 quilters supplied demographics on people who quilt and the benefits of Brick and Mortar stores compared to online shopping.
Women were the majority of quilting shoppers comprising 92.8%.
• 78.4% are over the age of 51
• 17.8% are 36-50
Online shoppers found the convenience of shopping from home one of the major benefits. The ability to shop at multiply stores and get their list of quilting materials completed were other benefits.
The personal shopping experience from Brick and Mortar shops and seeking the advice from store associates is an advantage over online shopping. Another benefit is being able to determine the true colors and texture of fabrics.
